The zinc liquid pump and filter press pump undertake key tasks such as new liquid transportation, circulation, and filtration. Recently, the electrolytic zinc workshop successfully completed a specialized technical upgrade of the 21-meter new liquid concentration tank for calcium and magnesium removal in the sixth series, optimizing and upgrading the zinc liquid pump and filter press pump systems, effectively enhancing equipment operational stability and production efficiency. Previously, the traditional sealing method used in the system was prone to issues such as new liquid leakage, mechanical friction overheating, and zinc liquid crystallization blockage during long-term operation. Due to the corrosive and crystallizing nature of the new liquid for calcium and magnesium removal, once leakage occurs, it not only causes equipment corrosion and on-site contamination but also easily leads to shaft seal damage, bearing temperature rise, and other failures. Additionally, the accumulation of crystalline substances can affect the normal conveying capacity of the filter press pump and zinc liquid pump, increasing equipment maintenance frequency and spare parts replacement costs, severely constraining the workshop's lean production management. This technical upgrade focused on optimizing the sealing structure, cooling method, and circulation system of the zinc liquid pump and filter press pump. By adopting a more stable and reliable sealing solution and enhancing the flushing and cooling design, the risk of leakage and friction temperature on the sealing surface was effectively reduced, minimizing the occurrence of crystallization blockage. Meanwhile, the optimized filter press pump operates more smoothly, further improving filtration efficiency and ensuring the continuous and stable operation of the calcium and magnesium removal process. After the upgrade, the on-site equipment operation status significantly improved, with a substantial reduction in maintenance frequency and downtime. This not only reduced new liquid waste and maintenance costs but also further enhanced environmental safety levels. In the future, with the continued application of high-reliability zinc liquid pumps and filter press pumps in the hydrometallurgical field, stronger equipment support will be provided for the electrolytic zinc industry to achieve green, efficient, and low-cost production.
